TIME AND VENUE
The Fourth China-Japan-Korea Joint Symposium on Optimization of Structural and Mechanical Systems will be held in Kunming, China, November 6–9, 2006. Sessions will take place in the main building of Yunnan Dianchi Garden Resort Hotel & Spa located at western suburb of Kunming city.
Kunming, also known as Spring City, is the capital of Yunnan province, South China. Kunming is the political, economic and cultural center of Yunnan Province as well as the gateway of China to the Southeast Asian countries.
Kunming is free from bitter cold in winter and torrid heat in summer with an average temperature of 9°C in winter and 23°C in summer. It has an annual average temperature of 15.1°C and an annual temperature range from approximately 12°C to 13°C. "Climate remains like that of February and March, and flowers blossom throughout the year" vividly depicts its climate of perennial spring.

VISA APPLICATION
In order to obtain a VISA, an Invitation letter is needed. We prepared INVITATION LETTER for all the authors for VISA application. Invitation Letters have been mailed to Professor Byung Man Kwak and Professor Koetsu Yamazaki for delegates from Korea and Japan respectively. All delegates can contact to the Secretariat of the CJK-OSM4.

Based on the information from Dalian Foreign Affairs Office, for delegates from Japan, no visa is needed to enter China if your stay is less than 3 months. But this information should be confirmed from the local embassy/consul of China.
Specially Noted: Either delegates from Japan or Korea should confirm the information needed for visa application from the local embassy/consul of China.

AUDIOVISUAL SERVICES
Each meeting room will be equipped with a LCD projector. If you need other equipment, please contact to the Secretariat of the CJK-OSM4 as soon as possible.

PAPER SUBMISSION AND REGISTRATION
The full papers should be submitted by E-mail to：stliu@dlut.edu.cn or guoxu@dlut.edu.cn before Sep.20, 2006. The full text of papers must be written in MS Word format. Please follow the Format and guideline of full papers to prepare your manuscript to ensure the uniformity in appearance of the paper in the Symposium Proceedings. The format and guideline of full paper will be placed soon on the CJK-OSM4’s homepage (http://sail.dlut.edu.cn/cjkosm4).
To ensure the full paper be included in the proceedings, the presenter must pre-register for the symposium before Sep.20, 2006.

Registration fees at CJK-OSM4 Conference are:
Credited on/before Sep. 20, 2006:
U$ 350 for Members: 　　　　　　　　U$ 200 for Students,　　　　　 U$ 200 for Accompany Person

Credited after Sep. 21, 2006:
U$ 400 for Members, 　　　　　　　 U$ 250 for Students, 　　　　　 U$ 220 for Accompany Person

The Cheques/Bank Drafts should be made payable to Dalian University of Technology.
The fee covers a copy of the Conference proceedings, admission to all sessions, banquet, lunches, coffee breaks and refreshments, and sightseeing to Yunnan nationalities villages.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
The scientific program will include plenary, invited and contributed talks.

SIGHTSEEING
A travel to Yunnan Nationalities Village will be offered by the conference organizing committee in the morning of Nov. 9, 2006. It is about 500m from Yunnan Dianchi Garden Resort Hotel & Spa.
Post-Conference Tour
Many optional post-conference tour routes to the sights of interest of Yunnan Province will be available organized by a local travel agency. During the conference, there is a reception desk to help delegates with arranging the tour planning by your request at the hall of the hotel.
