The objective of the project covers the numerical and experimental studies on the marine oil perforating gun systems with the development and applications of modern optimization design methods. The major research work of the project will be on the following aspects: systematic and accuracy measurements of the time-related variation of the gun pressure; selections of materials and processing technologies for different perforating guns through the systematic investigations on the mechanical properties of the materials in different conditions; determinations of the optimal structures of the perforating guns in different materials, processing techniques and perforating bullets. Based on the theoretic and experimental studies, design methods for perforating guns with higher quality and lower costs are to be proposed, in which optimum combination of materials, perforating structures and perforating bullets will be achieved. These design methods will be widely applied into the developments of the marine petroleum.
