The National Centre for Computer Animation (NCCA, United Kingdom)
The NCCA have been leading the research and education practices in the UK in relation to computer animation techniques for many years. The NCCA has been successful in developing vigorous and on-going connections with leading animation, special effects and games companies around the world, such as Industrial Light and Magic, Dreamworks, the Moving Picture Company, Disney, Double Negative, Framestore-CFC and Sony Computer Entertainment. NCCA also established the UK’s only government-funded doctoral level research centre in the area of computer animation and computer games, called the Centre for Digital Entertainment (CDE), which has been awarded over £10 Million initial funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
