报告摘要:

Starting from the closed form solutions for the five independent elastic properties/constants of regular hexagonal honeycombs with a macro-sized uniform cell wall thickness, the effects of material distribution and cell irregularity on the elastic properties of honeycombs are investigated using theoretical analysis and computational simulation, respectively. The obtained results are compared to those of the regular honeycombs with uniform cell wall thickness. In addition, an analytical model has been developed to relate the geometrical properties of irregular honeycombs to their elastic properties. Moreover, using the size-dependent bending stiffness, transverse shear stiffness and axial stretching/compressive stiffness of a single plate with a uniform thickness at different size scales, the relationships between the five independent elastic properties and the honeycomb relative density are obtained for regular honeycombs with cell walls of uniform thickness at macro-scale, micro-scale and nano-scale, and the results are compared to those of the conventional large scale honeycombs.

Hanxing Zhu(朱汉兴),英国卡迪夫大学工学院,教授。近些年主要采用理论分析、计算模拟和实验测量等手段研究多孔材料、生物多级材料、复合材料、功能梯度材料等的力学行为和物理属性。已发表学术论文100多篇,其中在力学类顶级期刊(比如,J. Mech. Phys. Solids;  Int. J. Plasticity; J. Biomechanics),材料类顶级期刊(比如,Advanced Materials; Acta Materialia; Carbon; 2D Materials),及能源类顶级期刊(比如,Energy & Environmental Science; Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews)上发表论文多篇,引用率超过4700余次(谷歌学术数据),H-index高达36。多次受邀在国际重要学术会议上(如,6th World Congress of Computational Mechanics)做大会特邀报告,担任国际知名期刊(如Biomimetics, Materials)的编委及英国EPSRC基金项目的评审人,入选英国应用及计算力学学会会士,并被美国斯坦福大学列为世界排名前2%的科学家
